Konstantin

"When I went to Finland in 2012 and signed up there for one season I never expected at all where that decision will guide me. Four years later I went to sweden with some friends where I met Johanna. Both of us were working as guides, me as a Husky Guide and Johanna as an Activity Guide!

After the first winter season we came up with the idea of founding our own company and we began to search for the perfect place. Since a company with huskies is a life time investment we were quite picky with the location. Johanna is from Sweden and knows the north pretty well, so after exploring the map for several weeks we noticed Arjeplog. We went there to see the place with our own eyes and we knew that this was the place we were looking for, close to the mountains, lots of lakes and forest, nice people and an airport not too far away.

The first year we lived with our first eight sleddogs at a camping site and after seven months we found our new home. Långviken, a small village of nine inhabitants including us and over thirthy dogs now. Johanna is currently working at the vet station in Arvidsjaur but she is still here every now and then to help out and guide dogtours!"

Johannes

Johannes has been part of the White Horizon team since 2021. He was born in Germany in 1989 and worked as a social worker in residential youth care for ten years before spending his first vacation with Konstantin and Johanna. The dogs, the work, the landscape, and the people here in Sweden fascinated Johannes so much that he decided to give up his job in Germany and move to Sweden. His work as a dog handler and tour guide on the husky farm is very fulfilling. He tries to fill his free time with all kinds of outdoor activities. During his stay, Johannes has already been able to learn and try out many new things, including working and building with wood, ice fishing, snowmobiling, and quad biking.
